Camping

We only have 3 days of school left, counting today! I can't wait until we're done. But it's kind of stupid that it ends on a Monday, and that's June 28. We should just be done on Friday and call it quits. Okay. But our camping trip was so awesome. We were supposed to be going to Cypress Hills but there was a flood there, caused by the rain and we couldn't go. It was kind of stupid that we didn't get to go to Cypress because that would have been really fun, but it was flooded so that wouldn't have been fun. Instead we went to Pike Lake, Saskatchewan. That is almost in Saskatoon. Like it is near Saskatoon anyways. So anyways this is what we did. On Monday, we drove there (well duh) and ate lunch. Then we started setting up our tents and stuff and the girls went on a nature hike with a girl named Maryanna. She was a something to do with nature and it was pretty lame. She had a mushroom book that she was going to look things up in. Mushroom books are very handy. Then after that we went swimming. In the pool. That was after three o'clock so we got in for free. It was mint. There is a water slide and you go gassing down except it doesn't really go fast. So then after that we had supper which was so good. It was potato, carrot, onion, and butter clumpies in a tinfoil and you chuck it in the fire. It was VERY good. Then after supper we played tug-of-war and the girls one five out of six because we are tanks! Then that turned into a mud fight. But I did not attend the mud fight. I sat on the side lines and watched. They would go running up and there was this huge mud thingy and slide into it. then after people would sit in the mud and hand on to the rope and the others would pull them through the mud. It looked very fun! The showers were a mess though. They had to scrub them with dish soap and water and stuff and yeah. They were SO muddy. Then Monday night there was a little thunder storm. You could only hear it if you woke up and I don't think very many people did. I did though because SOMEONE was snoring. On Tuesday just hung around for the morning. Mr. Smith woke us up with his bugle thing. We went to Wanaskewin in the afternoon and had a picnic. Then we went and watched that video thing that is stupid. After that we went hiking though the trail or whatever. Then we gassed as fast as we could after that back to the park and went swimming. We got in for free again. Yahoo. After supper we did skits that were kind of lame. They were emotions on a roller coaster, capsizing a canoe, Uncle Fred combining, and Mr Couch gets woken by the crows again. Then the girls did the boys in their tents. And the boys did the girls in our tents. It was kind of mint. There was a thunderstorm that night, or evening I guess it was like at ten or something like that. We were sitting by the fire but then we went and festered in the tents for a while. On Wednesday we went swimming in the morning, after we took down our tents. The boys went on the nature hike that day in the morning. Then we came flying home just in time for the bus. So it was quite an awesome trip!

Camping Trip

Today we were practicing setting up our tents for the camping trip! They are so awesome! Our tent is pretty tiny. It's a four man but it's kind of small. We have to put a tarp underneath the tent and above it so that it won't leak. We have 3 people sleeping in it, so it better not leak. It's going to be so much fun! I'm getting really excited for our camping trip now. Like I can't believe that it's already on Monday. It's only 3 days away or something. But it's going to be raining probably. Oh no! So there are 28 kids going I think, and 5 adults. It's going to be the best camping trip ever! There were only going to be 16 kids and 4 adults but now the grade 7's are coming so there are more people.

I'm excited for playing the game elk hunter game. It's going to be great. I'm also excited for mini golf. Me, Amy and Jessica are going to play a game of it and it will be awesome. I am not excited for eating at McDonald's though because McDonald's is the WORST restaurant EVER. But It's going to be such an awesome time that if you aren't coming I know you are green with envy.

Stuff

There are only 4 days of school left! YIPPEEE!! This morning in home Ec. we were cleaning the home Ec. room. It was very boring. Then we also cleaned the sewing machines. In English we were in the library reading. I was reading Wayside School is falling down. It was a dumb book. But it was kind of funny. Then we had health. It was just average boring. Right before lunch there was an assembly. They SRC activity was musical chairs blindfolded, and then they would move the chairs around. It was kind of great. At noon today, we were being losers. I got brought to the graveyard by Amy and Jessica. It was actually the porch, but yeah. It was a great noon hour. Next we have math. Oh no.

Tomorrow we are practicing setting up our tents. Our group is going to be SO pro at setting them up. I've never set it up before so we are going to be good. But I am supremely extremely excited for going on the camping trip to cypress hills! It's going to be super duper awesome! So yeah. Next week we only have 2 days of school because 3 of them we are gone for the camping trip. Then the next week we have one day of school which is not going to be the most enjoyable. We have 2 tests that day I think. But the exciting thing is going to be signing bricks in the elementary end. It's going to be kind of fun!

The Breadwinner Series

Today I will write about another book that you should read if you don't know what to read. The first one is the Breadwinner. It's about a girl in Afghanistan who has to work for her family so that they have enough food and money. Their whole family lives in this little place, and they are very poor. She has to pretend to be a boy because girls and women aren't allowed to go outside. Thee taliban made these rules. They have to paint their windows black so that you can't see the women inside the houses. Also, if they want to go out on the streets they have to wear a burqua so that they can't be seen. The taliban treat prisoners very brutally. It's just bad.

The second book in that series is called Parvana's Journey. In this book she goes to find her mother and sister because they went to the place in Afghanistan where they thought the taliban wasn't in charge. But just after they left, Parvana finds out that the taliban actually is there and she sets off to find them. At the very beginning her dad dies, so she is left all alone to travel. On her way she finds a baby in an abandoned town, and she names him Hassan. They set off from there and then they are looking for shelter. They find this cave but there is a little boy living there called Asif. They soon run out of supplies so they have to set out again. Parvana, Hassan and Asif are trying to find food. Then they almost get blown up by a minefield. There is a little girl named Leila who lives there. They stay there for awhile too, but then a bomb is dropped on it and they have to leave. Finally, they find a camp to stay at. There are nurses there to care for them. Parvana wonders if her mom is there, and soon she finds her. The last book is called mud city, but I haven't read it yet so I don't know what it's about. I think it will be that the Taliban finally leave, and they can go back home and rebuild their house and city.

Wayside school and some other things.

It's almost the end of the school year! Yippee! Only like 6 days left, counting today. I can't wait for the camping trip to go mini golfing. It will be so awesome. I haven't ever done it before but I think it will be fun! School ends on June 28 and then Canada Day is on July 1! I don't know for sure what I'm going to do on that day. Probably we will have a bonfire at home and yeah. Pretty exciting! Another thing to do if you are bored is throw marshmallows at the wall. Very entertaining.

If you ever need to know what book to read, you should read 'Sideways stories from Wayside School' or 'Wayside School is falling down' or else 'Wayside School gets a little stranger' by Loius Sachar. They are so awesome. Actually they are kind of random and pointless, but still they are kind of funny. In wayside school dead rats 'live' in the basement so you can't go down there. Mrs. Jewels who teaches the class on the 30th story, doesn't allow dead rats in her classroom. Once there was a dead rat and they just chucked it out the window. Another thing about wayside school is that the builders built it sideways, which is why it has thirty stories. But ther is no nineteenth story. Miss Zarves teaches the class on the nineteenth story. There is no Miss Zarves. There is no nineteenth story either. Does that make sense? I didn't think so. Miss Zarves class pet is a cow. There is no cow either. Mrs. Gorf used to teach the class on the thirtieth story, but Louis the yard teacher ate her so she doesn't anymore. There are three Erics at wayside school. They like to play way high up ball. Way high up ball is not allowed. But, they play it anyways. This is how you play. You throw the ball up as high as you can and which ever story it hits, that's how many points it is. For example, if it hits the tenth story it is a 'ten pointer!' Then it falls down and whoever catches it gets ten points, and gets to throw it up. If you throw the ball up and it doesn't hit the school, but just comes back down, it's called a glopper. Louis the yard teacher is very good at way high up ball. Louis has the best moustache on the whole playground. He also is the only one with a moustache. Terrance is another kid at wayside school. Terrance is a spazzer. If he plays any game and doesn't win, he throws the ball over the fence. Wayside school is pretty awesome.

This morning in English I was reading 'Parvana's Journey'. It's a very good book. It's the one after 'the Breadwinner' and then there's one other one but I can't remember what it is. So if you haven't read those books, you should get on it. Plus today there were these random inspector guys.. the ones who were taking pictures of the ceiling and they were on the roof of the school. They were making me mad because they had a breifcase with them. It was just this tiny little thingy. It chapped. Plus on Friday we have a science test. It will not be the cats. Plus we have our math test on the last day of school, in the afternoon. Typical. It's not going to be very enjoyable. Plus a social test that day too. ARGH!! I can't wait to be done!
This is what you should do if you are ever bored. Go on to youtube.com and search 25 things to do when you are bored. One thing is make a low buzzing noise. Another one is act like a robot. It's extremely funny.
Next thing to write about is that the month of June doesn't come before April. That's a very important thing to know so never forget it. This June has been too rainy to be for real. It's not even cool. There are going to be like 70 million mosquito's this summer because there's been so much rain lately. Did you know that pigs are smarter than you think. If you are ever bored I have one more idea of what you can do. You take walkie talkies and one person goes and hides and you give them directions to where you are hiding. It's great fun. That's what we were playing on the weekend.

Anything and Everything

I'm quite excited for the camping trip! It's in 6 days... yahoo! I hope that it doesn't really rain, but it probably will. This morning was funny. In English we were sitting at the bottom of the stairs on the little platform thingy by the gym... and there were these guys in the music room taking pictures of the roof. We thought it was pretty random. Also "they're always watching you!" or "out in the open!" HAHAHA! That was so humorous! In Science we were tying up a tarp. We were so pro at it! But then it wasn't big enough and we had to put a different one up. After that we went and jammed garbage in the dumpsters. The we went and got some tarps and strings ready for the camping trip!
So yeah. We only have 6 days of school left after today. This is the last class today so we're pretty much done today. I can't wait. Then this summer some Finlanders are coming to our house at the very start for like maybe a week. And I don't know what else I will do this summer. I am working for a bit of it, and then I will just vedge around. Yeah. Plus, it's raining again today. For seriously. This spring we've just had too much rain. Like it rains for 2 weeks straight, then it's sunny for 2 days and it's raining again. I can't wait until it clears up!! So I can't wait for summer, but I'm sick of rain.
